Tom Kruger’s Strolling Magic Show

Tom Kruger has been doing close up magic and strolling magic for well over a decade now. His selection of close up magic tricks, many of which are hand held illusions with his honed comedic timing and personality, makes his magic shows a big hit with corporate and social events.

Strolling magic or close up magic is an entertainment show that is preformed in the audiences’ hands or within two or three feet of your guests. A close up magician typically uses props, that can be held in the hand such as decks of cards, rope, silks, paper money, coins, rubber bands, audience members personal belongings, etc…

The types of events that get the most value from strolling magic or close up magic include settings where entertainment is good to break the ice or to break up a long waiting period,It is an ideal event to add entertainment value where people have a limited amount of time but still want to be entertained and also as an attention grabber to a particular location or booth.

Just some ideas for strolling magic or close up magic would include:

  1. At trade show booths to build an enthusiastic crowd so that the sales reps have a full audience to show their presentation to. (In some cases, product information can be incorporated into the close up magic tricks.
  2. At any location where there might be long lines and you don’t want people to feel like they have been waiting for a long time, like long lines for concert tickets, theaters on the opening night of blockbuster movies, malls where families are waiting to see Santa. These lines seem to move faster, when being entertained with strolling magic shows.

In a situation where people would like some entertainment, but cannot get it because with a lot of activity, a stage show would be impractical. Such places are boat cruises with party themes, DJ parties, downtime before concerts or sporting events and cocktail hours.

"We needed someone that could perform a close up magician act that could relate to, and keep 440 young adults from across the country having fun for 3 hours during a boat cruise. The demand to be entertained by Tom Kruger and his close up magic tricks was so strong that he was still being asked to continue his strolling magic shows well after the boat had returned to shore. We were very happy and we will hopefully be hiring him again."
